Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Somonauk Public Library are volunteers who work to enhance library services, programs and resources. Our goal is to promote membership, increase community participation and sponsor special events.

Your membership matters. Through your donations to our fundraising efforts, we are able to provide library materials, equipment and programs, such as:

• Children’s computers
• AED machine
• Summer Reading prizes

Over the years, the Friends have participated in fundraising events as well as participating in events to support the activities of the library. Some past events include:

• Used Book Sale
• Membership Appreciation Events
• Summer Reading Program
• …and other special events throughout the year such as National Library Week
